One video from the scene posted on YouTube captured the costumed mob cheering as a man dressed in an orange prison jumpsuit was beaten and kicked by a pair of thugs.
At the end of that video, which showed several scuffles, one witness says, "I saw that dude get clocked, crack, right across the face, blood was flying off him. That dude pulled a knife."
It was not clear if the man in the video was the victim, who police say was stabbed multiple times and kicked in the head until he was knocked out.
Local station KTLA reported that cops arrested Jeffery Williams, 19, after the attack.
He was charged with attempted murder and held on $1 million bail.
Police said they aren't sure why the fight started.
